SJP Explains Kim Cattrall Absence from “Sex and the City” Revival

You weren't really expecting this would proceed without any drama, were you?

After news spilled that HBO Max is bringing back "Sex and the City" for a limited-run revival "And Just Like That," it became clear that Kim Cattrall would not return in her role as Samantha.

The swift internet consensus assumed it was due to bad blood between Kim and Sarah Jessica Parker. Seems plausible after Kim made it clear in a 2017 interview that she "had never been friends" with her costars.

Then a year later, when SJP offered her online condolences in the wake of Kim's brother's death, Kim fired back with a bitter online response. Not friends, indeed.

"No. I don't dislike her," Sarah responded to an Instagram comment. "I've never said that. Never would. Samantha isn't part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do."

HBO has not given us a timeframe for the revival's release, so we'll have to be content with the teaser trailer below.
