Hey, It's Teri Ryan!

My family has always lived here.  I moved up here in January of 2007 to be near them.  But all my life I have spent every year here, whether holidays or summer vacations. Love living here in Chippewa Falls.  The landscape, the people and just the all-around feeling of camaraderie everywhere you go. I am a lover of all sorts of music.  I have always appreciated the talent and God-given gifts that musicians have creatively.  I am a wife, mother of 3 and grandmother to 1.  I am very thankful -- as well as my family -- for the love, and acceptance that we feel here living in the Chippewa Valley.

    This week rumors began to surface that Miley Cyrus was going out on her man with Justin Bieber. She is in face engaged so it has raised a few eyebrows.  Then later this week, her mom, Tish, has filed for divorce on Billy Ray Cyrus after only reconsiling 3 yrs ago, after she had an inappropriate relationship with musician Bret Michaels.  What is going on?  Doesn't it seem like a trend, that when the parents display bad behavior, that the kids are following?  It is just getting worse.  Like my Dad always said " Do as I say, not as I do"  He even knew better.  Hopefully the future will hold brighter, smarter and a classier group of young entertainers that do not follow in the footsteps of their parents.  Just a thought.     More and more you read updates, view photos and contact your friends and family through electronic means. Emails, Facebook updates, text messages etc...  When is it too much?  You learn about divorces, marriages, births and birthday parties online.  What happened to the phone call?  As we have moved faster and faster into the computer age, I think we have lost what makes us human. Contact. Hopefully we can back up just a bit and try to remember what fun we used to have chatting with our friends and family on the phone or in person.  We should pick one day of the week when we use none of those means and just contact personally those who we mean to chat with, get to know or just say hi.   • Americas Fittest Cities

    Read an article from the American College of Sports Medicine and it gave a list of the fittest and not so fit cities in America.  Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota was top on the list of the fittest and Detroit was on the top of the not so fit.  Well as a Wisconsinite I guess that means we are not so bad.  Kind of in the middle.  I think we should step up a little.  The weather is finally getting nice and it's time to get out there and show the rest of the states how it's done.  We have the most beautiful lakes, parks and people.  Lets use our resources and make ourselves healthier and more fit.  If not to just prove a point. :) Read More
